Damian O’Broin

Widely regarded as one of the country’s leading experts on non-profit communications and fundraising, Damian started Ask Direct early in 2006 after nearly 15 years working on advocacy, fundraising and communications campaigns for some of Ireland’s largest and most well known charities and non-profits.
He believes that convincing lots of ordinary people to support your cause is vital if you want to achieve your goals and build a sustainable organisation in the process.
Damian is a member of the Institute of Direct Marketing, an associate member of the Institute of Fundraising, and currently sits on the board of Friends of the Earth Ireland.
In what remains of his spare time, he can be found murdering old blues numbers on the harmonica and patiently awaiting the glorious renaissance of Dublin hurling. Any day now.
He has also been known to solve all the world’s problems in the time it takes to drink a few pints of Guinness in the Gravediggers of a Thursday night. (Though sadly his theories have proven stubbornly resistant to the acid test of logic whenever presented under conditions of sobriety)
